Hi! It's us - the team behind mapahalloween.pl.

Sylwia - I'm an autumn lover, cat lady, gadget geek, and mom to two teenage girls. You might spot me somewhere around the neighborhood on a bike, with a camera, or a drone. I also sew Halloween costumes for my loved ones myself so I don't lose my mind in front of the computer.
I am the initiator behind the creation of Halloween Map.
In our two-person team, I've assigned myself the role of novelist and project manager, which means I do pretty much the same thing as at work, just on a more... hmm... candy-coated scale. I gather ideas from kids and parents, check out what's trending, add a pinch of magic to it, and plague Rafał with an endless list of things to do, fix, tweak, repaint... And Rafał surprises me every single time by showing me that what was "impossible" in the evening is ready by morning and even more beautiful than I imagined. And then it's just painting the website with words and making sure it reaches every single one of you. I run around local groups, talk about Halloween, and convince people that fiends and ghosts are just make-believe, but the fun is real.

Rafał - I'm a tech guy. I'm responsible for the technical side of our Halloween adventure: the app, the website, and making sure everything works. I also serve as a safety brake for Sylwia's crazy ideas. With varying degrees of success - especially since I have a soft spot for new ideas and gadgets myself.
It all started with an online ad. That's how I met Sylwia, and before I had time to really think about it, we were already creating a world of ghosts, pumpkins, and candy together.
Outside of the project, I work as a DJ, handle conferences, and build web applications. And making sure I occasionally step away from the computer is Betty - my German Shepherd and absolute lunatic, next to whom even the craziest ideas seem completely harmless. My unofficial nickname? Mister Last Minute. They say the best ideas come at the very last second - I regularly test this theory in practice.
On Halloween, I'm the spooky guy, and by the candy bowl… well, let's just say the supplies require quality control.

And do you know how it all started?

Sylwia - It all happened because one year, on Halloween night, not a single person knocked on my door. My kids wandered around a quiet, dark neighborhood with no decorations, afraid to visit neighbors who were mostly surprised and some even outright hostile. After discussions with a group of parents, I decided to use a map to get Halloween rolling in my town. The goal was to make sure kids knew where they could safely knock. In the first year, around 200 homes from Józefów, Otwock, and the surrounding areas joined the map. Little monsters lured by the map finally showed up at my door. And the kids brought home buckets full of candy. However, my first map had a slight flaw - it couldn't be shared on phones with parental controls turned on. And that's how Rafał joined me. He put the map on a website, so all kids could use it on their phones.
Do you know what happened next? Over 800 spots appeared on the map: homes, offices, Volunteer Fire Department stations, restaurants, and cafes. Surrounding districts of Warsaw, towns, and villages joined us. And pumpkins, lights, ghosts, and special effects showed up in my town. And most importantly - crowds of people in costumes.
We decided to spread Halloween across all of Poland. But you have to help us with that. Send the map to your friends. Let's keep Halloween safe. Have a spooktacular time!
