🎃 Privacy Policy

1. General Information

This Privacy Policy outlines the rules for processing personal data and using the mobile application Halloween Map (available for Android and iOS) and the associated website mapahalloween.pl.

The application was created for community and entertainment purposes to facilitate safe fun for children and parents during Halloween night with "trick or treat".

2. GPS Location Data (Location Permissions)

The mobile application requests the user's one-time or constant consent to access the device's location (permissions ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION and ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION).

• Purpose of using location: To display the user's current position on the map (the "Where am I?" button) and to allow routing to a selected friendly house in an external navigation app (Google Maps).
• No background tracking: The application DOES NOT use location in the background. The GPS position is read only when the application is active and open in the foreground on your smartphone screen.
• No saving of position on the server: Your GPS coordinates are processed only locally in your device's memory. We never log, archive, or transmit your current location to our servers or third parties.

3. Reporting Houses to the Map and Email Address

Users can voluntarily report their house or apartment as a point on the map (offering treats or asking for peace):

• Scope of collected data: Property address (street, building number, optionally apartment number, town, postal code), optional notes for children, and the email address of the reporter.
• Purpose of processing the email address: The email address is used solely to send a one-time message with an activation link (anti-spam verification) and a link to remove the address from the map at any time.
• Confidentiality: The reporter's email address is completely confidential. It is never publicly visible on the map or in the app and is not used for marketing or advertising purposes.
• Data deletion (Right to be forgotten): Any reporter can permanently remove their house from the map at any time with one click on the removal link sent in the activation email or by sending a request to kontakt@mapahalloween.pl. Data is deleted promptly and irretrievably from the database.

4. Data Stored Locally on the Device (Cache / Gamification)

To ensure reliable operation of the application on the street, even with poor mobile network coverage, the application stores in the local cache of the smartphone (Shared Preferences):

• The recently downloaded list of points (so the map loads instantly upon launch without delays),
• The count of collected candies and achieved ranks (gamification feature for children),
• The history of ratings given to locations (Like / Empty) to prevent accidental multiple clicks.

This data is stored only in your phone's memory and is not linked to your personal account.

5. Children's Privacy

Our application is fully safe for families and children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 13. House reports to the map can only be made by adults who are owners or residents of the property.

6. Third-Party Services

The application uses Google Maps API services to display the map background. Using the maps is subject to Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
